Culinary Key - Terms & Conditions

1. Account & User Responsibilities

Account Ownership: Each business is responsible for its own Culinary Key account and can grant access to unlimited users under their account.

Device Usage: Users must ensure the security of their devices (tablet, phone, computer) when accessing the application. Culinary Key is not responsible for device management unless specified in a separate enterprise-level agreement.

Compliance Responsibility: Culinary Key provides tools to assist with food safety and compliance, but users are solely responsible for ensuring their own legal and regulatory compliance.

2. Subscription & Billing

Subscription Plans: Users can choose between monthly or annual billing.

Billing Cycle: Payments are processed at the start of each billing period. Users cannot cancel mid-cycle but may unsubscribe to prevent renewal.

Trial Period: New users receive a 30-day free trial. After the trial ends, the subscription will automatically renew unless canceled before the trial period expires.

Refund Policy: Users who forget to unsubscribe may request a refund within 30 days after renewal.

Non-Payment & Suspension: Accounts with unpaid balances will be suspended until payment is received.

3. Data Ownership & Privacy

User Data Ownership: Users retain full ownership of their data. Culinary Key only stores and processes data on behalf of users.

Data Storage: Data is stored securely using Google Firestore (Firebase). Users cannot choose where or how data is stored, but Culinary Key ensures data security and best practices.

Right to Be Forgotten: Users may request complete data deletion at any time, in compliance with GDPR regulations.

Data Retention: Upon account cancellation, data will be retained for 90 days before permanent deletion.

Encryption & Security: Data is encrypted in transit and at key points. No additional encryption is currently implemented.

Third-Party Sharing: Culinary Key does not share user data with third parties, except for Google Analytics to improve service.

4. Service Availability & Liability

Uptime Guarantee: Culinary Key aims for 99.8% uptime, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Data Loss & Liability: While we rely on Google Cloud & Firestore for data integrity, we are not liable for any data loss beyond what is covered by Google’s cloud services.

Modifications & Updates: Culinary Key may introduce updates, new features, or changes to improve the platform. Continued use after updates indicates acceptance of the changes.

5. Termination & Changes

Account Termination: Users can terminate their account at any time. Data will be removed as per our 90-day retention policy.

Policy Updates: We may update these terms from time to time. Users will be notified of material changes and continued use constitutes agreement to the new terms.
